A recent downsizing of my boxes of keepsakes uncovered a treasure trove of old negatives and a dozen “disc” films that had never been processed. (The current rate to have them developed is approximately $300 so I can only hope there is no family treasure on them. Could the film be processed by a camera group or school camera club? I have yet to explore that option.)
With boxes of negatives to view, I quickly acquired a negative scanner and overwhelmed the family with some pretty awful photos of snow, unknown people, and even nothing but trees. In the midst of the hundreds of negatives, however, I uncovered a long-forgotten family photo taken in Ottawa in 1964: My Mother, my maternal Grandmother, me, and my four children, Cheri, Jennifer, James, and Jeff.
This family photograph was among the many treasures, but one that I have shared with my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I hope they share it with their children’s children.
