ABOUT

I have done so many things in my 80 plus years that it is hard to limit my comments. But I will do my best to be concise.

FAMILY

My family consisted of four children and four stepchildren which was rare in the 1970s. The Partridge Family came later and, to our delight, showcased many of our experiences.

EDUCATION

Over the years I continued taking educational courses to increase my employment opportunities and to feel more equal to my husband, who had many post-graduate degrees. At the ripe old age of 45, I was finally able to attend university part-time and graduated with a Master’s Degree five years later.

WORK EXPERIENCE

I was extremely fortunate to find employment that I enjoyed. In fact, my family told me that I “lived to work” rather than “worked to live.” In any case, a drunk driver ended my working life in 1992.

I really missed working – the social atmosphere, the feeling of accomplishment, and the sense of contributing.

In 2017, my daughter, Jennifer, and I created crittercreche.com, an e-commerce website which featured pet supplies, keepsake jewellery, and burial urns. That business kept me active until 2020, when I suffered a fall.

jblack.com, “Chronicles of Life” was developed to read how others  have handled births and deaths, marriages and divorces, retirement, or personal interactions.  I have experienced all of these over the years. Perhaps someone will relate to my comments.

I love sharing my stories and opinions about everything. I hope you will join me in this experience.

So far the postings are wonderful additions to my own stories thanks to our authors and contributors.
